Kim O'Hare, originally from New Jersey, currently attends New York University (NYU) as a graduate student in Music Performance.  She studies with Bradley Garner, flute faculty member at The Juilliard School, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and NYU.  Since 2008, Kim has substituted as second flute and piccolo with the Lancaster Symphony, and also as second flute with the Pottstown Symphony.  She has performed in masterclasses in the United States, France, and Canada.  Kim has performed for Robert Langevin, Denis Bouriakov, Jeanne Baxtresser, Julius Baker, Rie Shimizu, Brad Garner, Jeffrey Khaner, Joshua Smith, Kathleen Nester, Tatiana Ruhland, Alberto Almarza, Bill Connington, Gary Schocker, Alexa Still, Shiganori Kudo, Vincent Lucas, Jean Louis Beaumadier, and Bart Feller.

     Kim attended the International Academy of Nice in Nice, France, and was chosen by the flute faculty as a soloist for the final concert.  She has recently been chosen as a prizewinner for the National Flute Association's Masterclass Performers Competition.

     Since at NYU, Kim has already performed with the NYU Symphony Orchestra twice, and actively participates in chamber groups, masterclasses with Keith Underwood, and extended technique classes with Robert Dick on a weekly basis.

     Kim earned her Bachelor's degree from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in Music Performance in May of 2008.  She attended TCNJ with a full tuition scholarship, and was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society.  While there, she studied flute and piccolo with David DiGiacobbe, principal flutist of the Harrisburg Symphony.  She held the principal chair in the TCNJ Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, as well as played with the TCNJ Woodwind Quintet. 

     Kim's primary flute studies include Brad Garner, David DiGiacobbe, and Ronna Ayscue.  Additional lessons include Robert Langevin, Michael Parloff and Carol Jantsch.
